Hi, I’m Alison

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and absolutely love forest preserves, biking trails, and the lakes of the Midwest. A series of decisions have led me to a quaint coffee town in the mountains of Costa Rica where I spend most of my days juggling an baby, an active toddler and busy three year old. The person of Jesus has led me into deep waters and brought a depth to life that has no end.

I promise, the future is always a mystery.

I met my husband in 2016 while working in North Iraq. I had no clue people like him existed before that fateful day. Michael, a missionary kid raised in Lesotho and Zimbabwe is considered a “third culture kid,” and is every bit flexible as interesting. In 2022 I hit pause on my career as a humanitarian to pursue full time motherhood whilst attempting a new nightly routine of candlelit writing.

Join me as I process the thoughts and experiences of the everyday life-journey with God.
